Things you need to know about finding and using books in VinUni Library.

About Vitalsource ebooks

To read an VitalSource ebook, please click "View full text" .  Please note that VitalSource ebooks has limited access, so it is recommended that you:

  • Click "No thanks, I’ll skip this step" to get to the "Bookshelf".  You can view "Library"  to find the books you already added or go to "Explore" tab for more ebook options.
  • Click the image of your needed book and access the book online by clicking on '"BORROW " . The book will be loaned to you for a period of 2 hours  (as set up by the publisher), click "Open book" to read the book. 
  • Click on "PRINT" to print/save to PDF a limited portion of the book.(Note - the Print limit is reset per loan)
  • After retrieving the contents of interest, please ''RETURN" and exit Bookshelf  to free up ebook access for other users. The eBooks are automatically returned by the system when 2 hours expire if  do not return it.

How to log in

  • For students who already have a VitalSource account, please enter your email address and password and then click “Sign in” or
  •  For students without a VitalSource account, click “Create an account” to create a new VitalSource account and then sign in.

 

 

Highlights and Notes

1. To highlight, select the text with your cursor. The highlight menu will appear. Choose a highlighter color and click “Add Highlight.”

 

2. To include a note with your highlight, click “Add Note” and then enter your note.

3. Use the notebook to view all your highlights and notes in one place. Here you can edit, add notes, and even filter results by keyword. Click on a highlight to be taken directly to that location in the book.

Reading

These are several tips when you are reading

  1. Tab – Show or hide the toolbar
  2. Bookmark – Add bookmark
  3. Highlighters – Activate fast highlighting
  4. Resize text – Zoom in and out or choose a page layout
  5. Print -  Print a page range from your book
  6. Citations – Create MLA or APA style citations
  7. URL – Copy the URL of your current page

Search Content

1. Click the search icon to open the panel. Here you can search for content in the book.

2. Enter a keyword or phrase into the search field and look for results below. Click on a result to be taken directly to that location in the book.

3. If results are found in your notebook, the notebook icon will appear below the search field. Click this icon to open your notebook and view your notes and highlights filtered by the keyword you entered.
