Download an ebook from EBSCO

1. Before downloading an EBSCO ebook to read offline, you will be prompted to either sign in with a Google account or create a free MyEBSCO account. This is separate to your VinUni account. Please see More detailed instruction on creating EBSCOhost account.

2. Click on Full Download to "borrow" a copy of the complete book on your device. (If there is no Full Download tab, then this title is not available for download due to publisher restrictions.)

  • Select a Download Duration from the drop-down menu and when available, select whether you would like to download the PDF or EPUB format of the eBook. You can choose a download period of between 1 and 7 days. Once downloaded, the book will remain on your PC/device until the download period expires or you return the ebook. If you need more time, download the ebook again.
  • Confirm that you have Adobe® Digital Editions or equivalent reader software installed and click the Download button. The eBook is added to the Checkouts area of your folder.
  • Select Open with or Save File from the resulting dialog box. If you select Open with, your eBook is opened with Adobe® Digital Editions. If you select Save file, the eBook is saved to your computer and can be opened with Adobe Digital Editions at a later time.
  • If the eBook you have chosen to download is in use by another patron, and if your library offers Hold capability, you have the opportunity to place a hold on the eBook, so you may download it when it becomes available. Sign into your personal My EBSCOhost folder account (if not already signed in) and click Place Hold to be notified when that eBook is available for you to download. When the eBook is available, you are notified via the e-mail address associated with your account and the eBook appears in the Checkouts area of your folder.
