VinUniversity Library provides this guide that allows students to learn about fines, fees and how to pay your bill through VinUniversity Libraries Online Fees Payment.

Answers to your frequently asked library questions! Friendly help!

  • Monitor your Library account regularly
  • Return the book before or on the due date.
  • Respond immediately to emails from the Library asking you to return an item before the due date.

The VinUni Library charges fines for lost, damaged, and overdueitems . Borrowers are  responsible for returning  loan materials in good condition, regardless of circumstances that may occur over the period of the loan. All patrons are subject to fines for overdue, damaged, or lost items .

Charges can be paid

  • Via POS machine directly in-person with the librarian (POS machine) at the circulation desk
  • via your Library account in VinUni Library.

A block occurs when a student or staff member has an outstanding amount owed to the University or to the Library. The client will not be able to request or borrow library material. After the account is settled, the block is lifted and the client will be able to use the Library's resources.

Fines incur the day after due date and continue to accumulate over several days according to Fines & Fees type. Please refer to this LINK for more information.

Check your account in VinUni Library or your email.

If you believe that a charge has been wrongly applied to your account, or would like to request a mitigating factor, then please contact the Library via one of the channels listed below, in the Contact box.

You will need:

  • Your VinUni account login and password
  • Your debit or credit card. 

VinUni accepts the following cards: Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, JCB, UnionPay, ATM card from local bank.

Yes, you can and no minimum amount is required. However, the block will not be removed until the account is resolved.

► Patrons will not be able to request or borrow library material.

All transaction are required in VND (Vietnamese Dong).

The Terms and Conditions are available HERE and it is strongly recommended that you read them before proceeding. 

  • For domestic bank cards, Cardholders must register online payment services with the issuing bank before performing transactions.
  • Please contact the Bank for the most detailed service support.

For Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB: To make an online payment transaction, your card must be activated for Internet payment function. Some banks do not automatically enable this function when issuing your card. You should contact your issuing bank using phone number on back side of the card for this information.

For domestic debit card (ATM card): Depending on requirements of your issuing banks, you should register their services at the bank counters to be able to make payments online.

  • Verified by Visa (VbyV) or MSC is a Visa/ MasterCard program designed to provide online merchants the added security of having Issuing banks authenticate their individual cardholders and qualify their online transactions for fraud protection or chargeback.
  • If you have enrolled 3D- Secure Program for your card with Issuing Bank namely Verified by Visa for Visa card, MasterCard Secure Code for MasterCard, and J- Secure for JCB Card, you really need to enter online payment password.
  • In case you forget your password or would like to get more information about VbV or MSC, please contact your bank.

OTP is One Time password used for online payment. Issuing bank will send you OTP password via SMS or by using Token key.

If payment is successful, an online receipt will also be sent to your email address registered in Library system automatically to confirm payment.

No, refunds will not be given. 

Ensure that the email address you are using is the one that you have used when paying for your fines and also check your email account spam folder. You can log on to your library account to check your balance was updated.

  •  Firstly, You must refresh the website and log in to your Library account again. When you do, it will accurately reflect your payment.
  • Please check that you have received the payment confirmation email and the transaction ID. Contact circ@vinuni.edu.vn and provide them with the following information: the transaction ID, a description of the problem including any error messages displayed (a screenshot of your Library account). The Library will also receive library fines failure transaction notifications directly from the online payment system and may have already updated your record. 

If you have lost a book, please inform a Library staff at the Circulation Desk. 

Your fines and fees will remain on your account.

  • Click on Online Payment Guide and see Part IV: Transaction results of "Step-by-Step Payment guide" for more information on possible reasons why the transaction was declined.

A payment transaction may not be successful for many reasons. The most common ones are listed below:

  • Not register Internet payment function with issuing bank (for Visa, MasterCard, ..)
  • Not eligible for online payments function registration (for ATM cards)
  • Insufficient funds for payment. Some banks set a daily limit on the card.
  • Enter invalid card information.

For cards of Visa, MasterCard only: Password of Verified by Visa or MasterCard SecureCode program may be asked during your payment process, but you have skipped this authentication step.
