Scopus: Affiliation profile

Affiliation profile

  • Scopus Institution Profiles can be created at the level of any university, institute, campus or lab  based on the affiliation text in the articles it indexes.
  • Scopus data are used by various accreditation organizations or institutions themselves for reporting, bibliometrics and other purposes.

Affiliation profile page

From each Affiliation detail page, we can:

  • View document output by subject areas

  • View affiliation hierarchy

  • View collaborating affiliations

  • View documents by source and patents

  • Set alerts for updates

Video tutorial on reviewing affiliation profile

You can create an email alert to be notified when Scopus publishes new documents by an affiliation.

  1. From the Affiliation details page, click 'Set document alert'.
  2. Review or edit the name of the search, email address(es), the frequency of emails, email format, and select the status (active or inactive).
  3. Click 'Set alert'. A confirmation email is sent to the provided email address(es).

For more information, see How do I create, edit and delete alerts?

Click 'Export' to export an affiliation details chart or table, either as a .zip file or a .csv file.

  • Export the chart/table to a zip file- The zip file contains a screenshot of the chart/table for the affiliation in various image formats.
  • Export the data to a csv file- A comma separated file opens listing data points for the affiliation, which you can open in Microsoft® Excel.

Updating Affiliation Profile with Institution Profile Wizard

Changes to profile information will impact any institutional evaluations that use Scopus data. Therefore, Scopus just allows the institution's authorized representatives to  have access to an institution's profile and hierarchy and make changes via the Institutional Profile Wizard (IPW)  .
