VinUniversity IT Department will force enable "Multi-factor Authentication (MFA)" feature on Office 365 for all applicable staff/faculties. The steps below will help you link your email account with a phone number (if you have not already) to use multi factor authentication via receiving SMS OTP to your phone number.
Step 1: Sign in to Office 365 at https://portal.office365.com (Please Sign OUT from Office 365, then sign IN again, if you are already signed in)
Username: username@vinuni.edu.vn
Password: Password email
- Click Sign in. The following screen appears and select "Next"
Step 2: Choose the authentication method most convenient. For example, ‘Authentication phone’
- Select Vietnam (+84), enter your phone number to receive "Verify Code"
- Select "Send me a code by text message" or "Call me"
- Select "Next" again.
Step 3: Check the verification code sent to the registered phone number.
- Enter verification code and select ‘Verify’
Step 4: Select "Done"
After the MFA setup, whenever you sign into Office 365 service via web, via mobile apps or desktop apps (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive…), you will be asked to
1) Key in your email/password, then
2) Enter an SMS OTP 6-digit number sent to your registered mobile number.
