Linking to Library Resources: Linking to Articles/ E-book in a Database

Persistent links enable users to provide links to key information resources from library databases to colleagues and students in reading lists, email messages, online course outlines, and VinUni Library course pages.

Off-Campus Access Proxy

Off-Campus Access Proxy

  1. To enable access from off-campus locations, you will need to add the following prefix to the persistent link:

https://vinuni.remotexs.co/user/login?url=

Example:

https://vinuni.remotexs.co/user/login?url=https://bc.vitalsource.com/tenants/vinuniversity_explore/libraries?bookmeta_vbid=9781285965642

https://vinuni.remotexs.co/user/login?url=https://doi.org/10.1115/1.2010-Sep-3

        2.   Should the database's permalink contain the prefix within it, it will work off-campus without adding the necessary prefix.

For example https://doi.org.vinuni.remotexs.co/10.1115/1.2010-Sep-3

Note! If you are creating a link via remote access outside your university network, you do not have to add the proxy server address - it will automatically be included in the URL.

Creating a permalink in an EBSCOhost database provides access to the article only if the full-text of the article is available in an EBSCOhost database. Not all citations in the EBSCOhost databases provide access to the full text of the article. Articles that include the full text will offer a link for either "PDF Full Text" or "Linked Full text."   If the full text of an article is not available in the EBSCOhost database, use the "Full-Text Finder" link to see if the article is available from another journal package or database.
